Jack Kinnaman--who worked tirelessly on behalf of NEA-Retired and was, above all, a beloved friend and colleague--passed away this spring. It was a great loss to the NEA family, and to public education, because Jack worked so hard for what was right. He fought to ensure that education employees be treated as professionals and that all children have the educational opportunities our abundant society can well afford to give them.

Bobbie Davis retired in 1995 after nearly 30 years teaching reading and U.S. History and serving as a librarian to middle school students in both Estancia and Roswell, New Mexico. For two and a half years after retirement, Davis worked part-time in the archival library at the UFO Museum in Roswell. She received a small salary for her hours at the museum, as well as her pension and Social Security.
