NEA-Retired member Shirley Lindquist, who you'll meet in this month's cover story, crosses the border into Canada to save money on the drugs necessary to keep her healthy. Sad to say, her story is not uncommon. Many retirees now venture to Canada and Mexico to purchase drugs that, though identical in chemistry, are substantially cheaper in those countries than in pharmacies across the United States.
