Your time and skills are needed to help rebuild libraries. Our partners—First Book and The Heart of America Foundation—offer ways to make a difference by volunteering.

• First Book's Book Relief initiative has already distributed more than 1.5 million books to children devastated by the hurricanes of 2005. Now we need your help to do even more. Help provide books to these children and learn simple ways to teach young people about the importance of helping those in need.
  
  
• In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, The Heart of America Foundation gathered and delivered more than 40 tons of backpacks, school supplies, toiletries, and books to displaced children in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, engaging more than 16,000 students in volunteer service.
