Classroom Management

Free Storage Solutions

In Front of the Class

from Linda Starr, Education World®

One person's trash can be a teacher's treasure. Try one of these "trashy" storage suggestions.

Portfolio Holders

Fill empty cereal boxes with projects and presentations.

Have each student cover and decorate an empty cereal box, and then cover the decorations with contact paper. The box can be used throughout the year to hold students' reports, projects, audiotapes, videotapes, and more.

Clothesline Art

Hanging art keeps classrooms clean.

Hang a string along the length of the classroom to create a clothesline. Use clothespins to hang student work or classroom posters and charts.

Picture This

Empty film canisters hold change.

Label film canisters with each student's name and use them to store lunch/milk money.
