Women's Leadership Training Program
The Women’s Leadership Program (WLTP) embodies NEA’s commitment to women in education. Always ahead of its time, NEA elected its first female president 10 years before American women gained the right to vote. WLTP continues this legacy, preparing leaders who are passionate advocates for Association issues, especially the concerns of women and girls.
Thousands of women across the country have participated in this unique program, especially designed to meet their needs. State Presidents select candidates from each state in the region to attend one of six regional trainings, held just prior to NEA’s Regional Leadership Conferences. Over the course of three days, participants gain knowledge and skills that will help them evolve into effective and dynamic leaders. WLTP’s proven success is personified by its graduates. This exceptional training ground has launched numerous leaders at all levels of the Association—including an NEA Secretary-Treasurer. Now it’s your turn!
2011-2012 Schedule
Please note: Because there are no on-site registrations, all WLTP program candidates selected by their State President must pre-register for trainings.
