Travel/Driving from the Airport
Little Rock National Airport
  • Exit to the right out of the airport parking lot and go to I-440 West to I-30 East (Downtown Exit).
  • Take I-30 East to Exit 141A (Markham/Cantrell) loop underneath the interstate.
  • Take the Convention Center Exit to the right and go 3 blocks to Main Street.
  • Turn right on Main Street and proceed 1 block to Markham. Hotel will be on your left.

Lodging
The conference room rate is $139 per night based on single or double occupancy. Quoted room rates are subject to all applicable city, county, state or federal taxes that apply at the time of room occupancy. Currently, the tax rate is 14%. The group room rates, as established will apply three (3) days prior and three (3) days after the conference dates, based upon availability of group rooms, at the time of the request. Hotel reservations can be made by phone at 800-732-2639. When calling, be sure to identify yourself as an “NEA conference participant” to receive the conference rate. When making online reservations, go to the hotel website and enter your desired hotel accommodation dates. Please contact the hotel directly to confirm your reservations. DO NOT contact the Southeast Regional Office for hotel reservations.

  • Valet parking fee: $18.00/daily
  • Day valet parking fee: $12.00/day (Individuals are responsible to pay any increase)
  • Self-parking fee: $7.50 daily at the 2nd & Main Parking Garage which is two blocks from the hotel

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations to your conference registration must be received no later than Friday, January 15, 2010. The room cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance of arrival, within 48 hours the deposit will be non-refundable. Check-in time for all attendees is 3:00 P.M. 100% of your fees will be refunded if your cancellation is received by January 15, 2010. No refunds will be issued if you cancel after January 15, 2010. No refunds will be issued for NO Shows.

Miscellaneous
The Open Hearing on Resolutions is scheduled for Sunday, February 7th from 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. Meeting room to be announced later. Copies of the 2009-10 NEA Resolutions will be provided at the Hearing and are also available for advance review on the NEA website.

Pre-Conference Events

Additional Training – Women’s Leadership Training Program (WLTP)
Wednesday, February 3-5, 2010

This training will provide the Personal Assessment Leadership Skills training (PALS), which is designed to prepare women for active roles in the Association by helping them develop a strong self-concept and providing them the resources they need to be effective leaders. PALS training focus on communication, decision making, and skills for entering the NEA leadership ranks, as well as Association structure, basic information, goals and strategies for leadership attainment.

Participants are selected by their State President’s to attend this training session and are fully funded by Human and Civil Rights WLTP. Participants must attend both the WLTP and the Regional Leadership Conference in order to be fully funded.
