Teaching About the Inauguration
Seize this historic teachable moment with learning activities about the Presidential Inauguration written jointly by NEA and the American Federation of Teachers in cooperation with the Presidential Inaugural Committee. They are designed primarily for grades six to 12 but include adaptations for kindergarten through fifth grade. You can find additional classroom resources at the Learning First Alliance web site.

“Renew America Together” National Days of Service
President-elect Obama called for a renewed commitment to national service over Inauguration weekend to take on the challenges our country faces. More than 13,000 community service events have taken place since the initiative was announced.

Take Action
One of the first orders of business of  the new president and Congress will be passing an economic stimulus package. Visit the Legislative Action Center to send messages to lawmakers about this and other important issues.
