NEA Board Observances


Honoring Diversity, Addressing Issues



Held annually during NEA Board of Director meetings, Board Observances are designed to raise awareness of education and equity issues and concerns of ethnic minorities; women; and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) constituency groups. Each observance features outstanding speakers and/or presentations on a current issue or topic of concern. The following video clips highlight these obervances.

From humble origins in rural Orange County, California, Justice Cruz Reynoso rose to become the first Chicano to serve on the California Supreme Court. He has fought for equal opportunity and human rights throughout his life.
