NEA President to Appear on This Is America
June 13–14, 2009
During the weekend of June 13-14, 2009, NEA President Dennis Van Roekel is scheduled to appear on the PBS radio show This Is America with Dennis Wholey.
Van Roekel will discuss the triumphs and challenges in public education.
This Is America is a weekly public affairs television series hosted by Dennis Wholey, a veteran television talk show host and producer who has been interviewing political leaders, celebrities, newsmakers, authors, journalists, and experts for television, radio, and books for more than 25 years. The show is distributed throughout the United States, Canada, and the world via PBS stations, the AmericanLife TV Network, and Voice of America Television.
Past guests include former President Jimmy Carter, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Ralph Nader, Marian Wright Edelman, Deborah Tannen, Cokie Roberts, Judy Collins, Senator Arlen Specter, the Reverend Al Sharpton, and many others.
