Join Read Across America's Read-In During the 2009 RA

Join NEA President Dennis Van Roekel and the San Diego Padres for a special Read Across America Read-In at Petco Park on June 30, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
NEA member/leader readers will read to 300 local schoolchildren in small reading circles. At Noon, several Padre players will join NEA President Dennis Van Roekel and read to the entire group. The event is scheduled to conclude at 12:30 p.m.
Volunteer readers will be provided a supply of books to read or they may bring a favorite book of their own to read/show the kids. The age range will be first, second and third graders.
Annual meeting attendees interested in participating as a volunteer reader, should email Anita Merina at amerina@nea.org with their name, state affiliate, email, and a phone number where they can be reached while in San Diego. We will email confirmation notes to all participants prior to the event w/final details.
