NOT IN OUR SCHOOLS
Saturday, June 29 - Sunday, June 30
Marquis Ballroom Foyer
In the Not in Our School movement, young people, with the support of educators, take the lead in creating new ways to make school safe. Through campaigns and clubs, they address bullying and all forms of intolerance—e.g., racism, homophobia, sexism, religious and disability bias.
An array of free tools, including videos and lesson plans available on notinourschools.org, can be used alone or in bullying prevention programs. Students become "upstanders," who speak up for themselves and others. Together, the whole community joins to say "NOT IN OUR SCHOOL," and creates an inclusive, safe school climate where backgrounds and differences are valued.
Not in Our School is a partner with NEA in the movement to improve school climates in every school across the country. Until all students feel they belong in their school community, until all staff feel connected to the school, we won't have the kind of improved school climate where bullying can't and doesn't exist.
