2015 NEA/AFT Joint Higher Education Conference

 

The 2015 NEA/AFT Joint Higher Education Conference will be held March 13-15, 2015, with a day-long Leadership Day organizing activity on March 12th. Education International will meet on March 14th. The conference is being hosted at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL. To register for the conference click here.

Purpose:

Share information, develop skill, network with others within the higher ed community and organize around issues that affect members of the profession.

Objective:

Actively encourage attendees to effectively utilize organizing and advocacy skills as a tool to make a difference in building membership and initiating change on, and within, their respective higher ed systems.

The National Council for Higher Ed (NCHE) will be conducting business throughout this 2 ½ day event. Conference sessions will be joint (NEA and AFT) and will include tracks that cover higher ed issues around:

  • Policy
  • Students
  • Organizing (Member and Staff)
  • Coalition Building and Community Outreach
  • Bargaining and Contract Enforcement
  • Contingent Faculty
  • Safety
