NEA’s Human and Civil Rights Department invites you to its 2016 Joint Conference on Concerns of Minorities and Women in Washington, DC, against the political backdrop of the most provocative election year in decades. Unite to fight social injustice. Inspire your fellow rabble rousers to action. Lead the movement to ensure opportunity for all students.

Our plenary and workshop sessions will help you create better learning opportunities for your students—no matter their race, gender, zip code, sexual orientation, first language, or immigration status. Join us this summer and we'll work together to create school communities that welcome all students!

The Joint Conference Team is working hard to prepare an awesome program. Please check back later for more information.

I love coming here because I always learn something new.  The conference is so exciting and informative.

The issues and topics discussed were relevant, on point and very necessary.

Valuable information to take back to my local.

To get with others to learn and to take back information to my local members on how to succeed and go forward.

The film and speaker, Inocente, made a deep impression on me and has spurred me to take action about homeless children.

The keynote speakers…WOW!!!  ….They made me stop and think and want to do more.

This conference is always invigorating – I love this conference.

The highlight of this conference was the honest conversation that each of the speakers engaged. This was my first time attending this conference. This has been one of the best experiences of my life.  I appreciate the honest, candid conversations that took place throughout the entire conference.
