Back to High School at 20

By Sylvia Perez, high school student, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Back in 2004, I made the dumbest decision, which was not to attend high school anymore and drop out. I was 18 and had my one-year-old son. I didn't realize how important it was to have a high school education until I got older and wanted to better my financial situation and started applying for jobs. I couldn't find a job because I was lacking that diploma.

Recently, I decided to go back to school. I only had to take two classes and it was only for a month. Now I'll be able to say I am a graduate. I am 21 years old and I will be graduating next year in the class of 2008. I did it not only for me but mainly for my son, who I want to teach that staying in school is the best thing to do. It took me three years, but I finally did it.

You're never to old to accomplish your goals.
