Urge Congress: Support Education for All
NEA supports the bipartisan Education for All Act (EFA), which would make universal basic education a focus of U.S. foreign policy, providing $10 billion over five years to help poor nations create and execute plans to educate all of their children.
Basic education is fundamental to development. No country has attained sustained economic growth without near-universal primary education.
Education reduces poverty, inequality, and provides a foundation for sound governance, civic participation, and strong societal institutions.
