Coming to a Library Near You!
“One strategy I have been using to entice my eighth-grade reluctant readers is to give them a ‘book trailer.’ Just like upcoming movies, I review several books by reading an interesting snippet, raise an ‘I wonder...’ question, make a statement that could connect to several of my students, and lastly display the book. These techniques pique their interest and make those reluctant readers race to sign up for books before others get them,” writes Elisa H. Endara, an NEA member in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.
