The Thought & Action Excellence in the Academy Awards

The 2012 NEA Art of Teaching Prize

A $2,500 award for an article that illuminates one educator’s approach to the complex and intangible dynamic that inspires students with a love of learning or an article that offers practical approaches to improving teaching and learning at the college level.

 

The 2012 NEA Democracy in Higher Education Prize

A $2,500 award for an article that contributes to the expansion of the welcoming and democratic culture of higher learning and the ideals of tolerance, justice, and the unfettered pursuit of truth traditional to the academy.

 

The 2012 NEA New Scholar Prize

A $2,500 award for an article by a scholar with less than seven years of full- or part-time employment in higher education. The submission can be made in either of the categories listed above.

 

The NEA Excellence in the Academy Awards are intended to advance the Association’s commitment to higher education. The Thought & Action Review Panel will select the winning articles from those published in the 2013 issue. The competition is open to the entire academic community.
