Real Health Care Stories: Laura L.
My uninsured students came to class sick and often made the whole class sick. Most of them were not really uninsured as they have our state insurance, which covers children for the poor. Their parents simply either had to work or didn't know how to care for them well. I often came to school sick too because I wanted to keep my job ... although I was insured. In one month I will lose my insurance because I was laid off from my teaching position right before I got my professional contract to be replaced by cheaper, inexperienced teachers who will save my county $1 million.
