Cosponsor Legislation to Create National Classified School Employees of the Year Award

Dear Representative:

On behalf of the National Education Association’s (NEA) 3.2 million members, we urge you to add your name as a cosponsor to legislation (H.R. 2377) introduced by Representatives Titus and Woolsey that would create a National Classified School Employees of the Year Award.

Classified school employees—including paraeducators, clerical assistants, school bus drivers, custodians, food service workers, technicians, custodians, school nurses, and security professionals — provide essential services to America’s public schools and institutions of higher education.  As an integral part of the public education system, classified school employees promote student achievement, ensure student safety, and contribute to the establishment and promotion of a positive instructional environment.

Classified school employees strive for excellence in all areas relative to the education community.  H.R. 2377 would provide long overdue recognition for their outstanding contributions to our nation’s schools and the students they serve.

To add your name as a cosponsor, please contact Amanda Cott (5-3252) in the office of Representative Titus or Katie Rodriguez (5-5161) in the office of Representative Woolsey.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
