Letter to Senate HELP Committee urging confirmation of National Labor Relations Board nominee

September 16, 2014

Dear Senator:

On behalf of the three million members of the National Education Association and the students they serve, we urge you to vote YES tomorrow to confirm the nomination of Sharon Block to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Previously, Ms. Block served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor; Senior Labor and Employment Counsel for the Senate HELP Committee; at the National Labor Relations Board as senior attorney to Chairman Robert Battista; and as an attorney in the appellate court branch for close to a decade.

The NLRB ensures the legal rights of workers, including educators, to fight for better working conditions and the means to provide for their families. We urge you to join us in protecting workers’ legal rights by confirming this highly qualified nominee during tomorrow’s committee session.

Sincerely,

Mary Kusler
Director of Government Relations
