Paraeducators and the Whole Student

Paraeducators help to ensure student success by meeting the needs of the whole student.  They keep students healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged so they can achieve at their highest levels.  Paraeducators are making a difference for their students and their communities. They are: packing backpacks with food for hungry students to take home over the weekend; lobbying to ensure that students have the necessary resources for physical and mental health; building school gardens for special needs students to create opportunities for experiential learning; planning extension activities for students, supervising homework club, and providing academic interventions. Every day and in every public school, paraeducators are educating and supporting students so that they can be independent, resilient, motivated and successful in school and in life. Paraeducators are critical partners in education.
