U.S. Education Paraeducator Workforce Statistics

Of the over 2.1 million ESP in the total U.S. K-12 education workforce, over 760,000 are paraeducators. Paraeducators also represent 11% of the almost 700,000 ESP who work in higher education. The following data is reflective of paraeducators in the total U.S. education workforce and is based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS).
