National High School Journalism Teacher Award
The winning teacher will deliver keynote addresses to scholastic and collegiate journalism educators and wins a trip to the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, a laptop computer and other prizes. Deadline: July 6, 2012.
Living in a Material World Grants
The purpose of these ten $500 grants is to enhance awareness of materials science and the role of materials scientists in society. Deadline: May 25, 2012.
NEA Foundation-Nickelodeon Big Help Grants
K-8 public school educators could be awarded up to $5,000 in the form of Student Achievement grants for developing and implementing ideas that foster a sense of global awareness in 21st century students. Deadlines: February 1, June 1, and October 15.
NEA Urban Grants
Each year, NEA awards 25 Urban Grants in the amount of $5,000 each to local affiliates to help in the development of education reform leadership programs for preK-12/graduate school faculty and education support professionals.

NEA Student Organizing and Assistance Resources (SOAR) Grants
These grants encourage and support NEA Student program members in their efforts to recruit new members or organize a student chapter. Deadlines: First semester, August 31. Second semester, November 30.
NEA HIN: Ryan White HIV Prevention Awards
NEA Health Information Network presents this award annually to an NEA member or affiliate who has demonstrated a commitment to implementing or supporting innovative HIV prevention education programs. Deadline: April 23, 2012.
