Child Soldiers Protocol
Warring nations, paramilitaries and guerilla groups use children under the age of 18 as soldiers. There are approximately 300,000 children in over 40 countries currently in military conflict.
NEA Speaks Out Against Child Slavery
NEA has partnered with prominent Haitian Americans to speak out against child slavery in Haiti. NEA President Reg Weaver is committed to advocating for the basic right for all children to receive a free, quality public school education.
As a member of the Executive Board of Education International (EI), President Weaver fully supports EI's comprehensive program opposing child labor and encourages NEA members to get involved by signing and returning the petition to end child slavery in Haiti.
