NEA in November 2006 participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial in Washington, D.C. Following Dr. King's legacy, NEA is committed to ensuring that all children have a quality education—regardless of race or ethnicity. Donations made here by state and local affiliates as well as individual members will help meet our pledge goal.

If we are to preserve America's public schools—and ensure a great public school for each and every child—NEA must continue to work collaboratively with ethnic minority partners to improve the quality of the schools in their communities and assure all children the educational experience they need and deserve.
Through Minority Community Outreach, NEA aspires to strengthen its relationship with current partners and initiate new partnerships and/or projects around education and other issues of mutual interest.
NEA has a long history of collaborating with many of these groups. Following are some of NEA's partners and allies.
