A Virtual Family

As the wind blew, the wires still hummed for support professionals.

Has anybody heard from Eddie Middleton? I am worried and wondering if he is OK!

The questions asked on NEA's ESP listserv usually aren't life or death. But in Hurricane Katrina's wake, the e-mail list served as virtual life rafts for some. From Louisiana, NEA-ESP Director Sharon Scott pleaded for supplies. Days later, from Delaware, boxes of soap arrived. From all over, people sent their prayers. "NEA-ESP Family, you are the best!" she wrote.

And Eddie Middleton? After rescuing neighbors from rooftops, he wrote, "Lost almost everything at home....Bottom line is, by the Grace of God, we are all together and safe."

For information on the listserv, go to NEA's ESP Home page.
