More than 525,000 educators joined NEA this summer, after New York  leaders approved a merger between the National Education Association of New York and the New York State United Teachers. Now, with 3.2 million members, NEA is the largest labor union in American history.

“Our coming together will give public education, and public school educators, a stronger voice in the classroom, in the state legislature, and at the national level,” NEA President Reg Weaver said.
