NEA’s Read Across America celebrates 10 years of spreading the joy of reading with exciting events and resources for readers of all ages. Create an event and fill out a pledge form. Looking for a special reading project to make reading more meaningful to your students? Have them dream up their own literacy project and apply for a Youth Leaders for Literacy Grant. NEA and Youth Service America are offering twenty $500 grants for student-led literacy projects. Guidelines and the application are available
to download at www.nea.org/readacross/volunteer. But hurry—the deadline to apply is November 24.
