Blast from the Past

The clicking projector, grainy images, off-base predictions—remember those great old filmstrips? Chris Moore, a former Texas science teacher, turned his love for these and other vintage educational tools into a profitable business. Droppin’ Science’s posters, T-shirts, still images, and filmstrips range from antique botanical images to unintentionally comical movies about social skills, drugs, and science from the 1960s. Moore founded the company after he and his wife relocated and he needed a new job. He opted to restore the vintage teaching materials he had been collecting as a hobby and turned them into affordable art for sale. To learn more, go to www.droppinscience.net.
