NEA Today Wins Top Publishing Honor
Association Magazine Earns SNAP Gold Award in 2001 Competition
Washington, D.C. - The National Education Association's (NEA) prize-winning magazine, NEA Today, chalked up another honor this week when it was presented with a top award from the Society of National Association Publishers (SNAP).
In the 2001 Excel Awards, which are presented annually by SNAP, "NEA Today went for the gold - and got it," said NEA President Bob Chase. "Our members know what a great publication we have, but it's especially nice to have others outside the Association recognize the outstanding work of our publications staff."
The Gold Excel Award for general excellence is based on writing, content, graphic design, and overall packaging. This year's competition, according to SNAP officials, attracted more than 800 entries in 40 categories.
NEA Today, the official publication of the National Education Association, is published eight times during the school year and is distributed to the Association's 2.6 million members, as well as education policymakers, school officials, and education organization leaders throughout the nation.
NEA Today is also the recipient of top publishing awards from the Association of Educational Publishers (formerly known as EDPRESS), and Women in Communications.
