Half-Hour Programs on Scientific Inquiry

On Fridays, Watch " TLC  Elementary School"

Designed by teachers for teachers, this award-winning series keeps the learning styles of elementary-age children in mind. "TLC Elementary School" airs on The Learning Channel every Friday morning. Each half-hour program consists of several short segments so you can easily incorporate one or more into your existing lesson plans. As a service of Cable in the Classroom, each program is commercial-free and can be taped and used in the classroom for up to two years.

Here is the line-up:

November 4, 2005 & December 30, 2005
Scientific Inquiry, Episode 1
Investigate why clean air and water are crucial to all life on the planet with students in grades K-2.

November 11, 2005 & January 6, 2006
Scientific Inquiry, Episode 2

Take students in grades 3-5 on a trip that starts in outer space and ends deep inside our planet. Along the way, you'll introduce them to astronomy, meteorology, biodiversity, and geology.

November 18, 2005 & January 13, 2006
Scientific Inquiry, Episode 3

Explore the celestial objects in our galaxy -- and what can happen when they fall to Earth -- with sixth graders. Then examine how plants make their own food and what adaptations allow birds to fly.
