NEA's Safe Schools Manual Updated
NEA has updated its well-regarded publication on school safety: Safe Schools Manual: A Resource on Making Schools, Communities, and Families Safe for Children. This manual, revised in October 2005, synthesizes the best and most recent research on school safety issues and offers a broad set of guidelines designed to help make children safer -- in their schools, communities, and families.
NEA's National Bullying Awareness Campaign

Publication Identifies Elements of Safe and Supportive Schools
NEA is a member of the Learning First Alliance, a partnership of 11 national education associations dedicated to improving student learning in America’s public schools.
The Alliance has produced a publication called Every Child Learning: Safe and Supportive Schools , available on the Learning First Alliance Web site. This report identifies four research-based elements essential to safe and supportive schools, and makes recommendations on how schools and districts can build safe and supportive learning communities. 2001.
