School Start Time Report

Later Is Better for Adolescents

A study that reviewed the adolescent sleep research and the implications for learning, health, and safety, found that a later school start time helps students in many ways.

In communities that moved the first bell back by an hour, researchers found kids getting more sleep, fewer students arriving late to school, higher graduation rates, and a trend toward better grades.
