A Grim Picture for the Arts

Fine arts teachers, the picture is grim:

  • 80% of arts teachers are female
  • 63% say they would do it all over again
  • 95% say they are making a difference in students’ lives
  • The median number of years taught is 19.6
  • 53% hold a masters degree or higher
  • 93% need to fundraise to support their programs
  • 36% report a drop in arts staffing in their districts
  • 81% say they will remain a teacher until retirement

Tell Congress to Restore Arts Funding

Write an email to your representatves urging them to reject cuts and invest in education.
