Wartime Sacrifice

Memorial Day commemorates wartime sacrifices made by servicemen and women. A number of infographics present statistics from Iraq and Afghanistan.

• Iraq War Fatalities is a chart that compiles data on 2,592 recorded deaths among American soldiers and their allies.
• The Dead, the Dollars, the Drones: 9/11 Era by the Numbers covers the costs of Iraq and Afghanistan in dollars and lives. Not all our soldiers’ war wounds are visible.

Originally Decoration Day, Memorial Day honors all our wars. Students can design their own infographics using American War and Military Operations Casualties: Lists and Statistics.
