Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution: K-12 Resources provides online resources for K-12 teachers and students.

For Teachers features educational activities and hands-on labs and kits. Classroom Activities have kits on plankton, ocean acidification, nautical knots and careers, ocean currents, and others. Ocean Conveyor Belt,  for example, examines ocean currents for students in grades 8-12. Teachers will find lessons, worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and other needed materials.

For Students supplies interactives and exciting learning resources such as virtually joining scientists as they study the ocean. Students can also browse other interactive features, learn about Marine Careers, Student Research and Summer Opportunities for Children.

Multimedia  features images, illustrations, videos/animations, interactive science, and slideshows. One video, The Ocean's Hidden Predators: Revealed  (6:15), discusses the importance of sharks in the ecosystem, the threats they face, and how new technology, such as the SharkCam, helps researchers.The interactive, "How Is Fukushima's Fallout Affecting Marine Life?"  lets students trace radioactivity from the reactor to the ocean floor.

Ocean Instruments is a field guide to oceanographic instruments and what they measure.

New Blogs & Expeditions include video interviews, exploration of hydrothermal vents, and classroom activities for grades 1-12. The activities provide objectives but not standards.
