K-12 Student Interactives

K-12 Student Interactives are organized by grade level: K-2, 3-6, 7-12. This Utah Education Network portal also provides links to homework help. Utah teachers and students can logon to the Pioneer Library to access additional resources.  Here are some examples of what UEN's site offers you:

  • K-2 Interactives fall under 12 categories of language arts, art and music, geography, math, and health. Mr. Rogers Build A Neighborhood lets students choose among four themes: house, construction site, farm, and castle and create an image by dragging elements from a menu to a background. Sid the Science Kid’s Say What? asks students to match animals with the sounds they make. They can choose between English and Spanish.
  • 3-6 Interactives are under 8 subject areas. In Illuminations’ Primary Krypto, students combine five number cards using the four arithmetic operations to match a target number. Primary Krypto uses numbers 1–10 only. Operations can be used more than once and there may be more than one solution. Funbrain’s What’s The Point? asks students to identify the correct ordered pair on a graph or to place a point a graph when given an ordered pair. There are three levels of difficulty.
  • 7-12 Interactives covers 8 subject areas. Sheppard Software’s Vocabulary Context Quiz-SAT List offers four possible answers for students to choose from. A correct answer shows the word in another sentence and provides a pronunciation guide. An incorrect answer will supply a definition. Some answers ma y provoke argument, but then so do the SATs. The NY Times Learning Blog’s Weekly News Quiz asks ten current events questions and provides immediate feedback and links to more information.
