Rubik’s Cube Units and Lessons for grades K-12 incorporate the Rubik’s Cube into math and STEM curriculum. In addition, teachers can download guides, posters, and other resources. Resources can be filtered by grade range, subject, and concept. National and Common Core Standards are kisted.

Filtering for K-5+Math+Geometry of Shapes/Figures produces a number of resources, including Classifying Polygons ( PDF, 433 KB, 5 pgs.) in which students learn vocabulary related to polygons and use that vocabulary to classify polygons. This lesson is from Rubik’s Unit: The Geometry, The Art, The Solution. A student book and teacher guide with eleven activities can be downloaded.

Filtering for 6-8+Probability produces Mathematics of the Rubik’s Cube - Factorals and Exponents  ( PDF, 498 KB, 3 pgs.) in which students determine the number of ways pieces of a Rubik’s Cube can be arranged. A link to a related Numberphile video (10:13) is provided.

Filtering for 9-12+Technology+Engineering and Design produces two resources, one being Making “How To” Videos.  ( PDF, 318 KB, 3 pgs.) Students create and edit a how-to video solving a Rubik’s Cube so that viewers can do the same.

Unlock the Secret  provides step-by-step guides that explain how to solve 3x3 and 2x2 Rubik’s Cubes. A video demonstration of the 3x3 solution is included. A video for the 2x2 is being developed. Students can also learn to solve the Rubik's Crew Transformer in two stages.
