Trains and Travel: Then and Now  ( PDF, 953 KB, 5 pgs.) is a K-2 social studies, English/language arts lesson in which students analyze contemporary photographs to discover how the dominant forms of transportation have changed over time.

The Land of Opportunity vs. Nativism  ( PDF, 2.1 MB, 7 pgs.) is a 5th grade social studies, English/language arts lesson. Students compare newspaper articles, illustration, and political cartoons for different perspectives on immigration and describe in a written reflection how immigrants would have perceived those different attitudes.

Making Art with WPA Posters ( PDF, 1.3 MB, 3 pgs.) is a grade 6-8 visual arts lesson in which students assess WPA posters as effective tools for promoting messages and consider whether posters are as common today as they were in the 30s and 40s.
