Illustrative Mathematics  is a collection of 1095 lessons and activities that can be browsed or filtered by standards, subject area (math, physical science, social science) and grade level. Tasks are described and commentary provided. Some activities require resources not supplied, such as books that might be found in classroom or school libraries.

Cave Game Subtraction  Small groups of students (1st grade) use cups and counters (5-20) to practice creating and memorizing subtraction equations, focusing on missing addends.

Halves, Thirds, And Sixths  Students (3rd grade) identify and add unit fractions and recognize equivalent fractions. A PDF of this lesson with blank rectangular arrays is provided.
