Iditarod in the Classroom
Follow the 2018 Race with These Lessons and Activities
Setting out on March 3, teams of 12 to 16 dogs and their mushers will cover more than 1150 miles from Anchorage to Nome in 10 to 17 days. Follow the trek with these lessons and activities.
The Iditarod was patterned after the All-Alaskan Sweepstakes which were races held in the early 1900s, not Leonhard Seppala's 1925 serum delivery. The serum run covers the last part of the Iditarod trail.
