Using Winter Seasonally

I love to use winter to teach my students lessons about camping, snow, and cold weather. I have students read Jack London’s To Build a Fire, and show them trailside videos about winter camping and building snow forts. We also learn about hypothermia and layering proper clothing and the properties of snow. We end the session with hot chocolate and marshmallows.
