Using Winter Seasonally
January 28, 2009
From David Monroe
“Use the winter seasonally by having your students read Jack London's To Build a Fire. I show my students trailside videos about winter camping and building snow forts (Quinzees). They learn about hypothermia and layering proper clothing. We also study the properties of snow. Winter is a lovely time for poetry and hot chocolate.”
