Sharing Books Every Day
November 10, 2009
I prefer to keep my elementary students in five rows. The first row by the door is the Monday row, the second row is the Tuesday row, the third row is the Wednesday row, the fourth is Thursday, and the fifth row is Friday. Not only does the row with the corresponding day get to line up first, but on that day they get to share the book they are reading during SSR immediately after lunch. I know it works because if there is a Monday, Thursday or Friday off that week, those rows of students beg to share the books that they are reading. I also notice that the books migrate around the room throughout the year.
