Park Your Questions

I have a poster-sized piece of paper decorated with yellow parking stripes. The poster is labeled “Parking Lot.” There are usually a short stack of sticky notes near the poster. When those random questions come up, I (and sometimes other students) just say, “Parking Lot.” Students know to bring up their pencil, jot the question down, and we’ll address it when there’s time. Depending on the type of answer they need, they may or may not jot their name on the sticky. Sometimes the parking lot gets pretty full between answering sessions. It’s a fun and simple way to catch random items.
