Graphic Report Presentations

March 15, 2010

My students create PowerPoint presentations that include all the pertinent details and aspects of most book reports. The students enjoy having the option of adding graphics and animations to their presentations. They can include slides on the author, his/her other works, and even video clips if the book had been turned into a movie. Adding narration is also an option. I’ve also had them create brochures using Microsoft Publisher, where each page or section discusses different aspects of the book. Again, adding the graphics or pictures is an important aspect for the students. I’ve used this method to do author studies, too. Depending on the grade level of the students, each method could be as simple or complex as needed. These kinds of reports are a hit with parents during Spring Fair or Back to School Nights!
