Group Vocabulary Games
June 30, 2010
I do a vocabulary building activity with my students where they have to make their own vocabulary game. They can model it after an existing game such as Chutes and Ladders or create their own. The rule is that the game has to be designed to help them study their vocabulary words. By creating the game, it helps students learn the words because they write out the words and definitions. I have the students rotate to play other group's games, so they get repetition of the vocabulary that way as well. The more repetition, the better. The kids have a great time creating their own games, and playing the different games created by other groups.
