A Left-Handed Solution

I am left-handed, so I used to end each day with an enormous black and blue smudge down my hand from writing on the overhead projector. I no longer have this problem since I started leaving a lightweight work glove next to my projector. Whenever I start notes with my students, I put on the glove. It looked pretty silly the first day or two, but we just laughed about my appearance and now even my students will put on the glove when they write at the overhead.

Great idea, but for those of us in those grades where we have students with legible writing, choose a student to write for you. You have both eyes on the class and one student learns through the psycho-motor domain. Rotate your scribe to allow all students the opportunity.

another great overhead projector tip!

Until nationally and statewide legislation becomes aware of how public schools and charter schools are treated, public schools will always score above the line. Public school are responsibile for the masses, charter schools can pick and choose how fair is that. If one explores the no child left behind in relation to how many special needs students are in either charter or private classroms, one will find that the % of difference is great. How about a new emphasis on our public schools many of which are in 50+ year old buildings and very large classrooms. Hopefully someone will really take a look at schoold. Get your supt. and teachers in and talk turkey and not just big cities and not just the east coast. The answers are with the people let them help you. My thanks in advance from a family of 25 teachers and administrators. Peggy Sue
