Another Thought on Buddy Sticks
July 16, 2003
My students, too, ask to use the buddy sticks to get partners for activities. Instead of writing student names, I stamp small images on the end of pairs of sticks, so each image is on two sticks. After each student draws out a stick, they have to go on a 'hunt' to find the partner with the matching stick. My kids enjoy the 'mystery' of not knowing who their partner will be, as well as the joy of the search. I like this quick way to pair up students, as well as not having to redo them each year.
