In my Spanish classes I have red pens available, and when we go over homework, the students mark their corrections in red. At the end of each chapter I give a homework quiz, in which I give students a list of ten pages and numbered items, and they write the answer they have in their workbook. I have found that even students who habitually do not complete homework will write down the correct answers (after I have checked homework, of course), so they will receive a good quiz grade. This way they are exposed to the material at least twice, writing it in their workbook and on a homework quiz. The homework quiz is given the day following the chapter test.
