Bell Work

At the beginning of each class period, I assign Bell Work. I put 5-10 questions on an overhead projector. The questions review past lessons and preview the day's lesson. I include page numbers so students can find answers for today's lesson.

I turn the overhead projector on when the tardy bell rings, and I turn it off after 5-10 minutes, depending on the length of the questions asked. The Bell Work is then collected. If they are tardy, they miss today's information and Bell Points.

This has ended horseplay at the beginning of class and gets their books open to the correct page to start class. While they are answering the Bell Questions, I have time to pass out papers and mark rolls.
